ABOUT NACIYE KOCAK

Naciye Kocak grew up in a splendid waterside mansion nestled along the graceful curves of the Bosphorus. Constructed in 1845 by the illustrious Balian family, renowned architects behind the iconic Dolmabahçe Palace, her childhood home was a sanctuary of opulence. It was in this picturesque setting that her imagination flourished, surrounded by a collection of cherished antiques from exotic corners of the globe.

Her passion for art and jewelry, along with her interest in high-end luxury goods, led her at a very young age to design her own jewelry brand, “Naciye Kocak.” The brand was sold in Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and I. Magnin in Los Angeles department stores. Being in New York, which became her second home in the late 80s, she was strongly influenced by the American street culture, hip hop, R&B and graffiti.

After her father's passing, she found herself thrust into the role of running his steel and construction business. Despite the daunting challenge, her passion for jewelry remained unwavering. Over the years, Naciye continued to design pieces for herself and her inner circle. She also embarked on extensive travels, collecting treasures from the depths of the Amazon forests to African tribes. Her fascination with objects of desire extended from Europe to the mystical Far East. Alongside her personal pursuits, she dedicated herself to philanthropy, donating her creations to various charitable causes worldwide.

After the dark era of the COVID pandemic, she resolved not to defer her passions any further and initiated her brand, Snobbysta. Particularly challenging the norms of traditional jewelry, she began to experiment with the conventions of jewelry-making, crafting pieces that are both playful and precious. Embracing the belief that one should seize every opportunity to maximize life's vibrancy, she meticulously curated a vibrant collection of funky and colorful treasures, seeking to inject joy into everyday experiences. Her life motto became “Bejewel your journey,” encapsulating her philosophy of embracing life's vibrancy to its fullest extent.
